Katt Hendershot
Safari Operations Specialist, The Wild Source
Born and raised in Colorado, Katt developed a passion for travel after a school trip to Europe sparked her love for exploring new places. Since then, she has traveled the world, working toward her goal of visiting all seven continents. So far, she has explored North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Antarctica, and soon Africa. In 2021, she had the opportunity to visit Antarctica in honor of her late father, a trip that deepened her interest in sustainable tourism. Katt is committed to promoting transformative, sustainable, and ethical adventure travel as a means to cultivate stewards of the environment and advance global equity.
Beyond her passion for tourism, Katt has a strong love of the outdoors. During her senior year of high school, she attended an Outdoor Leadership Vocational school. Since then, she has worked in outdoor education, at climbing gyms, managing outdoor gear and paddleboard rentals, and as a guide for REI. Katt holds certifications as a Wilderness First Responder, Leave No Trace Trainer, and Red Cross CPR/Wilderness First Aid Instructor.
Katt earned her B.S. in Human Dimensions of Natural Resources from Colorado State University, where she also minored in Diversity and Inclusion in Natural Resources and Conservation Biology. Her academic work focused on understanding the perspectives of various stakeholders on conservation issues, emphasizing cultural, socio-economic, and ecological considerations to promote effective stewardship partnerships. She continued her studies at CSU with a Master’s in Tourism Management, concentrating in Adventure Travel. During her time at CSU, Katt co-instructed Wilderness First Aid and Risk Management courses, founded the CSU Alpine Club, and held several leadership positions in her sorority, Alpha Sigma Kappa – Women in Technical Studies.
Beyond her role at The Wild Source, Katt is passionate about photography, climbing, crafting, and F1 racing.
