Katt Hendershot
Safari Operations Specialist, The Wild Source
Katt earned her B.S. in Human Dimensions of Natural Resources from Colorado State University, where she minored in Conservation Biology and Diversity and Inclusion in Natural Resources. Her academic work focused on conservation issues from multiple stakeholder perspectives, with an emphasis on cultural, socio-economic, and ecological considerations. She later completed a Master’s in Tourism Management with a concentration in Adventure Travel, aiming to promote transformative, sustainable, and ethical adventure travel as a means to cultivate environmental stewards and advance global equity.
Katt has traveled extensively, exploring North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Antarctica, and Africa, with Australia as the only continent left to visit. Along the way, her journeys have fueled her passion as a wildlife and adventure photographer, capturing the world’s diverse landscapes and wildlife. Her outdoor instructor experience began as an intern at Outdoor Lab Education School during her junior year of high school, which led to attending an outdoor leadership vocational school her senior year, where she gained hands-on experience with a variety of outdoor skills.
Katt has worked as a climbing instructor and routesetter, outdoor educator, instructor at Colorado State University teaching backcountry risk management and wilderness first aid, and as a guide for organizations like REI. She is a certified Wilderness First Responder, Leave No Trace Trainer, and Red Cross Wilderness First Aid Instructor.
