Trip Details:

You will begin in Zambia, exploring the lush diversity of the mighty Zambezi River in the Lower Zambezi National Park.  The Lower Zambezi offers a stunning environment and a great variety of safari activities. The river is the draw, as large quantities of animals come to the water in the dry season. The river can be explored by boat, canoe and fishing. The rich Zambezi has also produced the growth of towering woodlands that are open and ideal for walking and game driving in a different environment than most other safari locations. Night drives are also a highlight, creating the opportunity to see the full diversity of wildlife and increasing the chances of seeing rarely spotted nocturnal animals and active predators.

After your walk on the wild side in Zambia, you’ll spend a night in Johannesburg with time for a unique art excursion before you fly to the exclusive Tswalu Kalahari Private Game Reserve in South Africa.  The word ‘Tswalu’ means ‘a new beginning.’ Tswalu Kalahari is driven by two ambitions: to create an inspirational experience for its guests, and a conservation vision of restoring the Kalahari.  This entails the management of the entire ecological system, including the vegetation and the available water resources to restore vital ecological processes which have disappeared in other parts of the Kalahari, thereby maximizing the diversity of life found in the region. These two goals sit in equilibrium with each guest contributing directly to the sustainability of the reserve.  Tswalu employs researchers  that guests can interact with, including a biologist dedicated to researching the rare Pangolin.
