Combine wildlife, culture, luxury and relaxation on this ultimate East Africa bush and beach honeymoon (or romantic anniversary trip)!
Begin your honeymoon safari adventure at Kalama Wildlife Conservancy, a private community conservancy that borders the Samburu National Reserve in Northern Kenya. The area is home to the ‘Samburu Special Five’ – indigenous species only found in this area including the Beisa oryx, the gerenuk, the Somali ostrich, the Grevy’s zebra and reticulated giraffe. Guided by Samburu warriors passionate about their land and culture, learn first-hand about their fascinating customs and gain ancient, local knowledge about the land and animals.
Next you’ll head to the pinnacle wildlife viewing region in all of Kenya – the Masai Mara. Your camp is located in the private Mara North Conservancy, home to a spectacular array of plants, reptiles, birds and mammals including elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah and large concentrations of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle and other migratory wildlife. Experience vibrant Maasai culture at your camp and nearby Maasai villages. Being in a private conservancy allows for flexibility of activities such as night driving and guided nature walks.
Your honeymoon finale is experiencing two highlight regions of Zanzibar with stays in historic Stone Town and romantic beach bungalow at Fundu Lagoon in the barefoot luxury island of Pemba. Zanzibar is characterized by exquisite white-sand beaches fringed by palm trees and lapped by turquoise waters lined with coral reefs brimming with an abundance of exotic marine life. The island’s old city, Stone Town, is a UNESCO world heritage site and features a maze of narrow alleyways lined with boutiques, bars, restaurants, lively bazaars, mosques, and ornate Arab houses.
