Tarangire Safari Lodge
Many people make a mistake and miss Tarangire National Park, the most underrated park in the region. This is by far the best place in Northern Tanzania to see elephants and its landscape is hauntingly beautiful with ancient baobab trees dominating the landscape making it a lot of people’s favorite scenic park. There is a good diversity of predators and with many itineraries skipping Tarangire and instead jamming into the small Lake Manyara National Park you can better escape crowds and enjoy the vast environment of this wonderful park.
Tarangire Safari Lodge is situated on a panoramic bluff in Tarangire National Park, with one of Tanzania’s most spectacular views, encompassing acacias and baobabs, plentiful wildlife and the Tarangire River. The lodge was the first to be built in the park. Since 1985, it has been owned and managed by the Simonson family, who offer personalized service. At the heart of the lodge are the impressively high thatched roofs of the lounge and dining area. The open design allows for an uninterrupted landscape view and captures the cooling breeze. Accommodations range from traditional canvas tent or a roomy stone bungalow with all accommodations offering a valley view.
