Swala Safari Camp
Sanctuary Swala is located in a secluded area of Tarangire National Park in the far south where the wildlife viewing is best and there are the fewest numbers of vehicles. It is one of the most stunning and least visited parks in the country. The picturesque landscape is filled with ancient baobab trees, ambling elephants, and birds in flight.
Each of the twelve canvas pavilions is shaded by a tall acacia tree and within sight of the well-frequented water hole. The luxurious rooms are exquisitely furnished while providing an intimacy in nature with spacious open plan arrangement and nights under canvas. The tents feature a king bed or twin beds, campaign chairs, plush sofas, and an en-suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor shower.
The main dining area, deck, and library are lifted on stilts around an ancient baobab tree. All feature a chic, contemporary African design with a traditional thatched roof. The relaxing pool area also provides the perfect place to sip a cocktail and cool down after a day of game viewing. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in the main area and in guests’ tents.
Sip cocktails or enjoy your own private dinner on your veranda while watching the waterhole which regularly draws lions, leopards, and elephants.
All of the meals are enjoyed on the main dining deck with full English and continental breakfast. Lunch can be enjoyed back in camp or out in the bush. As evening sets in, drinks and canapes around the camp fire await you upon your return from safari followed by a three-course plated dinner.
Night drives and walking safaris are available as well as daily game drives. An infinity pool overlooks a waterhole frequented by game. Sundowners, bush dinners, and picnics are all arranged regularly as well as an opportunity to visit the Mwika beekeeping project.
