Serian’s Lamai Mobile
The Lamai Wedge is the portion of the Serengeti north of the Mara River up to the border with Kenya’s Masai Mara. Here lies an enormous swath of short grass plains that teems with animals and supports large numbers of the great migration herds. Amazingly this magical slice of Africa has just a couple of camps making this the Serengeti’s most exclusive game viewing area.
Nowhere else in the Serengeti/Mara Ecosystem can you be in such a prime location and have it all to yourself.
This is particularly advantageous to seek out the herds crossing the Mara River to witness one of nature’s most dramatic spectacles without line ups of other vehicles.

The seclusion of the camp means that you are free to have the run of the place. Comprising just 4 tents, the peaceful intimacy lends itself to exclusive bookings or groups accompanied by private guides.
Although it is a mobile camp, the furnishings and creature comforts are much of the same as it’s sister camp—Serian’s Serengeti North—with flushing toilets and bucket showers in ensuite bathrooms. Featuring enormous wrought-iron beds, Moroccan rugs, and all the accoutrements of a simple elegance that provides the comforts of home without detracting from the tranquility and beauty of the surrounding nature. Hosted, family-style dining add to the comfort and ease of the camp.
The camp is located one kilometer from the Mara River above Crossing Point #4, making for convenient access from the Lamai Bridge. With 1.8 million wildebeest coming back and forth over the Mara River between the Kogatende and Lamai areas, you are likely to be inundated with wildlife between July and October. Keeping with the style of all Alex Walker camps, you are paired with your own private guide and vehicle for the duration of your stay.
