Okonjima Bush Camp
Okonjima Bush Camp is in the same area as the Okonjima Main Lodge and is the luxurious alternative. Situated in a vast wilderness area, the Bush Camp is independently managed. Big cats are the focus here and the camp works in coordination with the AfriCat Foundation.
The AfriCat Foundation is devoted to the long-term conservation efforts of cheetah, leopard, lion, wild dog and caracal. Apart from Okonjima Bush Camp there is also an education and research center and rehabilitation camps on the property.
The Bush Camp lapa houses the reception, bar, and lounge area. There is a fireplace and many comfy chairs in the lounge to relax in. Meals are served in the indoor and outdoor dining areas.
The camp consists of 8 luxury thatched chalets and 1 honeymoon suite. Each chalet is en-suite and generously spaced apart (approximately 80-100m). The front half of the canvas wall can be rolled up to bushveld views. Each room has a mini-bar, telephone, and private safe.
