Grootberg Lodge is perched on the rim of the Grootberg Plateau overlooking the Klip River Valley in northern Damaraland.
Grootberg Lodge is the first middle-market lodge in the country that is 100% owned by the conservancy. Until the community is completely self-sustainable with managing the lodge, the private sector has supplied the training and skills needed to set the foundation.
Guests can expect professional, friendly service, extremely good food and well-trained guides. The main lodge has a restaurant (with a set menu), lounge and bar. There is also a swimming pool.
Accommodation consists of 12 rock and thatch chalets. Each chalet is en-suite with a shower and toilet, lights, and mosquito nets. Every room has spectacular views over the gorge where birds gracefully soar.
