Duma Tau Camp
Duma Tau shares the Linyanti Concession with King’s Pool Camp and Savuti Camp. The camps are far enough spaced that it is rare to see a vehicle from another camp but all enjoy spectacular wildlife viewing. Duma Tau is situated on a large lagoon off the Linyanti River. This is the source of the Savuti Channel, which in 2008 began to flow for the first time since 1980. The channel area draws a plethora of grazers to its open grasslands and in turn is one of the richest predator areas in Africa with the full diversity of lions, hyenas, wild dogs, cheetah and leopards. The lagoon is full of hippos and they can be viewed close up by boat. Night drives in this area tend to be very productive, and many of the smaller carnivore species are spotted with good frequency.
Activities include day and night game drives, short walks, and power boating. There are ten tents that are on raised platforms with en-suite bathrooms including both indoor and outdoor showers. The common area has a fantastic view of the lagoon and there is a well-positioned plunge pool to enjoy sightings on the flood plains.
