This one-of-a-kind safari is focused on finding and observing big cats, with the unique opportunity to be guided by the Serengeti’s top 3 big cat biologists and assist with their big cat research. Your head guide, Sosy, will be joined by David and Yusuf, the two Njozi Camp biologists – these three have an unsurpassed knowledge of the Ndutu region’s big cat population. At this time of year, which coincides with calving season for the Great Migration of wildebeest, it is the best time and place in the world to witness cheetah hunting. With luck we often have excellent lion action as well.
You’ll spend a full week at Njozi Camp, a comfortable, classic under-canvas camp that is home to the big cat research research team. Njozi is flexible to pack picnics and support your pursuit of cats with full days out in the bush, making use of the ability to off-road — allowing you to follow the big cats you find and observe / photograph their behavior, as well as get a higher-quality experience, away from the peak tourist areas.
