This past week, Bill left for Africa on his journaling safari of 2010. On January 20th, Bill touched down in Johannesburg. The next morning, they left for Sankuyo Bush Camp. Bill is still at Sankuyo Bush Camp, and will be visting many more camps within Botswana before taking off for Kenya and eventually returning to the United States in the second week of February.
As Bill continues his safari, I will be updating this blog to highlight each of the area he visits. The next blog post will cover accommodations in Johnanesburg - followed by an in depth writeup about what Bill is likely experiencing at Sankuyo Bush Camp.
For this trip, we also have a bit more excitement than usual as Bill should be able to provide us updates from his safari every 3 or 4 days. We'll know what Bill is experiencing very close to the actual time he is experiencing it. Presented below is the itinerary for the Journaling Safari 2010:
- Day 1: Arrival in Johannesburg, South Africa
- Day 2 - Day 4: Sankuyo Bush Camp, Botswana
- Day 5 - Day 7: Grassland Bushman Lodge, Botswana
- Day 8 - Day 10: Mapula Lodge, Botswana
- Day 11: Selinda Camp, Botswana
- Day 12: Zarafa Camp, Botswana
- Day 13: Layover in Johannesburg, South Africa
- Day 14-15: Ol Donyo Wuas, Kenya
- Day 16-17: Mara Plains, Kenya
