Selinda Explorer Camp
It has become difficult to find authentic adventures anymore. Luxury and machines are finding their way to every corner of the earth but in Botswana there remains a rare opportunity to explore the African wilderness as early expeditions have done, focusing on walking and canoeing deep within a 300,000 acre wilderness reserve. In this remarkable setting, along the banks of the Selinda Spillway, is a private camp that will be just for you and the private guide and support staff there to ensure your unique experience.
This is a vingate safari camp set in the style of the early explorers, with Campaign furniture, Persian rugs, sherry decanters, flush toilets and bucket showers. An open sided mess tent provides comfort in a bedouin style. As a romantic touch brass hip-baths can be portered to a nearby sand bank of the Selinda Spillway. The camp is custom built to cater up to 8 people but is private for each single party so exclusively yours.
This is true wilderness that was discovered to be game rich over the course of three years of canoe safaris down the Selinda Spillway. The area has proved particularly prolific in wildlife – huge herds of buffalo and elephants, great predator sightings with lions, hyena and wild dog, as well as rare and endangered sable and roan antelope. Of course the Selinda Spillway is home to hippo, crocodile, and a huge diversity of birdlife
Activities focus mainly on walking and canoeing, as this area does not have an extensive road network, but there is a dedicated vehicle for day and night game drives so your exploration is unlimited and with a dedicated private guide you choose to do what you want and when.

Selinda Explorer Camp Reviews

Comments: Tents are great. Selinda Explorers Camp old style safari vibe was fantastic. Selinda Explorer location right on the river was fantastic. We had animals like elephants, KUDU, baboons, giraffe, and buffalo walking right through camp and making wonderful sounds at night. Food was excellents. Great variety of animals. Especially liked the ‘pauses’ from game drives with canoe trip at Selinda Explorer Camp. Best family vacation ever. Would highly recommend it.

Comments: We liked Selinda Explorer Camp a lot. Guide, Vundi, was great. Bucket showers were kind of fun. No running water and lots of iron in the water. Loved the beds and the Steamer trunks as storage for clothes, etc. Food was interesting if not fabulous, and lots of fresh fruit, which is great. Possibly because of the long drought or because it was the dry season, there was no canoeing. There was really not a lot of water. There were some tiny ants on the tent floors.
