Okonjima Main Camp is situated halfway between Windhoek and Etosha National Park and makes a fantastic stop to breakup the five hour drive between the two destinations. The lodge is home to The AfriCat Foundation, a non-profit committed to the conservation of Namibia’s large predators, most notably leopards and cheetah.
Okonjima Main Camp is in the original Hanssen family farmhouse and was rebuilt in 1992. The main building has a lapa, secluded swimming pool and reception area. Guests are given a pre morning activity snack before returning to camp when a buffet-style brunch is served between 9:00-10:30. A three course meal is served between 19:00-20:00.
The camp consists of 6 double, en-suite rooms that all look over the garden and campfire area. There are also 10 Mountain View rooms with magnificent views over the bushveld. Each room is generously spaced apart to ensure privacy.
It is important to note that Okonjima Main Camp is closed during certain periods in December and January for annual maintenance.
