Okahirongo Elephant Lodge
Okahirongo Elephant Lodge is situated in the Kunene Region and on the banks of the ephemeral Hoarusib River near Puros, in the Puros Conservancy. The lodge is 55 kilometers from the coast and 200 kilometers south of the Kunene River.
Okahirongo Elephant Lodge is one of Namibia’s most remote lodges and can only be reached in a 4×4 vehicle or bush flight from Windhoek. Guests travel here to place themselves in a location to track the elusive desert adapted elephants, black rhinos and lions that call this remote desert wilderness home.
The lodge has a magnificent wraparound view and guests relax between activities by the pool, reading in the library, in one of two lounges or by having a body massage.
The buildings are open-air and linked to one another by wooden walkways all leading to the main lounge area with a deck and infinity pool.
The lodge consists of 7 luxurious en-suite chalets. Each chalet has extraordinary views. Dinner is served by candlelight in one of two dining rooms or under the nights sky around a fire. The cuisine is a delicious combination of Italian and African fare. The majority of the fresh produce is organically grown in the lodge’s garden.
