Rwanda Safaris Overview

Rwanda is most known for wonderful gorilla trekking and that is the driving force for the bulk of tourism. Nyungwe National Park is working on habituating chimpanzees but viewing is difficult at this time, however, there is excellent viewing of colobus monkeys. Akgera is the only general safari game area and is rarely visited but sightings are still developing and not on par with Kenya and Tanzania that can be easily combined with Rwanda. It is a beautiful country and there are many devastating exhibits on the genocide that occurred here that are an important part of any visit to Rwanda. I also have been involved with the development of a community center project working with genocide widows and orphans that is always looking for assistance for those looking for a more involved cultural involvement.
